Department laboratory facilities

The term “Electronic and Communication Engineering” denotes a broad engineering field that covers domains such as analog electronics, digital electronics, consumer electronics, embedded systems and power electronics. Electronics engineering deals with implementation of applications, principles and algorithms developed within many related fields, for example solid-state physics, radio engineering, telecommunications, control systems, signal processing, systems engineering, computer engineering, instrumentation engineering, electric power control, robotics, and many others. The department has following state of the art fully equipped lab focused towards nurturing young minds in practical aspects besides theoretical back ground.

Analog Circuits Lab

This lab familiarizes the basics of electronics. The lab introduces the passive and active components like resistors, capacitors, diodes and light emitting diodes (LEDs) etc to the students. Students will have an opportunity to build and test electronic circuits and in the process get acquainted with the different laboratory equipments such as Breadboard, Oscilloscope, Multi-meter, and other equipments which will be used in career advancement as an Electronics & Communication Engineer.

The main objective of this lab course is to gain the practical hands on experience by exposing the students to various linear IC applications. The lab also introduces to the students 555 timer and IC 741 and its applications, various voltage regulators. The testers for IC are available. This laboratory is fully equipped with major equipment’s like Linear and Digital Trainer kits, Cathode Ray Oscilloscope, Function Generator, and Simulator.

Digital Electronics and Logic Design Lab

This lab is designed such that the students get hands on familiarity with the concepts they come across in the course Digital Electronics. This is an undergraduate course which deals with the basics of digital systems design. The Lab is well equipped with both hardware and software facilities required by the students to perform the necessary experiments designed for this lab. Experiments are designed in such a way that the students become well aware of the concepts they learn in the theory sessions.

Microwave and Optical Fiber Communication Lab

This is an undergraduate course which deals with the basics of Microwave and Optical Fiber Communication to gain insight of fiber optic components, in the area of optical communication and gain knowledge about various microwave components with regard to communication. Students will have an exposure to analyze the waveguides and transmission lines. Students will be able to describe, analyze and design the simple microwave circuits and devices e.g matching circuits, couplers, antennas, amplifiers various types of TEES and Directional Couplers.

Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab

Microprocessor and Microcontroller Laboratory is equipped with 8085, 8086, 8051 and various interfacing devices. It is introductory microcontroller lab course at undergraduate level in engineering. The Intel 8051 microcontroller is one of the most popular general purpose microcontrollers in use today. The success of the Intel 8051 spawned a number of clones which are collectively referred to as the MCS-51 family of microcontrollers. 8051 chips are used in a wide variety of control systems, telecom applications, robotics as well as in the automotive industry. By some estimation, 8051 family chips make up over 50% of the embedded chip market.

Analog and Digital Communication Lab

Progress in telecommunications over the past two decades has been nothing short of revolutionary, with communications taken for granted in modern society to the same extent as electricity. There is therefore a persistent need for engineers who are well-versed in the principles of communication systems. These principles apply to communication between points in space, as well as communication between points in time. Digital systems are fast replacing analog systems in both domains. This Lab is dedicated to learn student about modulation techniques, and their implementation and simulation in real time.

Electronics CAD Lab

Students will be exposed to simulation part of electronics via cad software. The transient analysis and simulation of CMOS, BJT, MOSFET, Logic Gates and various circuit used in digital and analog electronics is done in this lab.

Project Lab

In this Lab students learn how to design and fabricate circuits and make projects which are useful in their day to day life. For the support of student’s projects we have Digital oscilloscope, multiple power supply, transistor tester, cable tester, function generator etc
