Civil Engineering Department, BBDNIIT was established in 2007 and it is an integral part of the institute since its inception. The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering is to educate students, conduct research work and develop Civil Engineering leaders for our nation.

The Civil Engineering Department has grown tremendously over the years and is now recognized as one of the major engineering departments. The department has developed strong links with the building and construction industry and academic and research, all over the country. Besides high quality teaching and instruction at graduate levels, the Department is actively involved in basic and applied research and provides high quality teaching. The Department of Civil Engineering with its dynamic faculty continues to maintain and cultivate bright opportunities for our students. Regular site visits to enhance the knowledge of students and make them acquainted with practical views. Workshops have been inculcated into regular curriculum for the broadening of the student’s knowledge base.

Civil Engineering Department of BBDNIIT aims at developing analytical and experimental skills in students to apply in various spheres of Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is a broad field of engineering which involves planning Design, construction maintenance and management of structures.

The department also provides an opportunity for students in improving communication and presentation skills, knowledge of software like Auto CAD, STAAD PRO, PrimaVera, Arc GIS and Rivet Architecture. The department consistently organizes Industrial Training and visit to live projects for students to gain practical knowledge and understanding of field constraints. The Civil Department has well qualified teaching faculties with industrial experience who are enthusiastic in imparting the quality teaching to the students. The emphasis is laid on proper understanding of the fundamentals of the subjects through video clips and case studies. It has well equipped laboratories, computational facilities; modern class rooms and provides a good environment for learning. Many senior faculty members are also engaged in research and consultancy projects which benefit the students for active learning. The college also has a library housing a number of quality reference books for the benefit of staff and students. Our department has been conducting seminars/conferences since its beginning to keep the faculty and students enriched with the latest developments in the field of technical education.
