1. IEEE Humanitarian Activity – AKHIL JYOT 2026 (Old Age Home Visit)
On the occasion of the death anniversary of Late Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Ji, the IEEE Student Branch of BBDNIIT organized “Akhil Jyot 2026” as a humanitarian initiative to honour his legacy of selfless service and compassion. As part of this initiative, students conducted a visit to an Old Age Home where they spent meaningful time with the elderly residents, sharing warmth, smiles, and memorable experiences. The activity aimed to promote empathy, respect, and social responsibility among participants.
2. IEEE Awareness Drive
The IEEE Student Branch conducted a class-to-class awareness drive for the AKHIL JYOT 2026 Donation Initiative. The objective of this activity was to inform and encourage students to contribute towards helping the needy through donations.
Students of IEEE actively participated in the awareness sessions. The team explained the purpose of the initiative and highlighted the importance of social responsibility and community service. Various donation items such as food, daily essentials, and books were discussed with the students. Proper guidance regarding contribution methods and collection was also provided.
3. IKS – AI Convergence: An Idea-Based Knowledge & AI Challenge
The IKS – AI Convergence: An Idea-Based Knowledge & AI Challenge, organized by the IEEE Student Branch (STB99403) on February 20, 2026, served as a pioneering platform for exploring the synergy between Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and modern Artificial Intelligence. Attended by over 60 members and guests, the competition challenged students to integrate ancient wisdom with cutting-edge computational frameworks, fostering high-level academic inquiry and interdisciplinary innovation. Following a rigorous internal evaluation of originality and conceptual clarity, top honors were awarded to Akarshika Mehrotra, Parul Mishra, and the team of Zara Tanveer and Anjali Kumari. By successfully bridging traditional concepts with real-world AI applications, the event not only highlighted the research potential of our students but also reinforced BBDNIIT’s commitment to advancing technology through a culturally grounded, forward-thinking lens.
4. InnVedX Code Hackathon – Internal Presentation Round
The InnVedX Code Hackathon – Internal Presentation Round, hosted by the IEEE Student Branch (STB99403) on February 25, 2026, served as a vital evaluation phase for students preparing for the UTKARSH 2026 annual fest. Centered on the unique theme “Build for Bharat – Open Innovation & Vedic-Inspired Computing,” the event saw over 70 participants present their technical strategies to a faculty expert panel. Projects were rigorously assessed on originality, technical depth, and real-world relevance, providing a professional platform for students to validate their ideas and refine their implementation strategies. By fostering a culture of technical excellence and peer-to-peer learning, the hackathon successfully identified high-potential projects while strengthening the professional communication and problem-solving skills of the BBDNIIT student community.

On November 4, 2025, the IEEE Student Branch (STB99403) at BBDNIIT, Lucknow, celebrated its formal Re-Inauguration under the theme “Empowering Innovation through Global Connectivity.” The conference, marked by a keynote address from Director Dr. V.K. Singh and Branch Advisor Ms. Kitty Tripathi, signaled a renewed commitment to bridging academic theory with global industrial standards. Key highlights included a formal pinning ceremony for new executive committee members and an insightful discussion on integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with modern engineering. By restoring this prestigious platform, the branch has enhanced student access to global research networks and the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, strategically aligning departmental goals with professional excellence and lifelong learning. This revival solidifies BBDNIIT’s position as a hub for technical innovation and prepares students to be globally competitive engineers.
2. IEEE Awareness Program 2025
The IEEE Awareness Program 2025, held on November 6–7, 2025, at the BBDNIIT campus, successfully oriented over 750 first-year students toward the global engineering landscape under the theme “Empowering Young Minds Towards Innovation & Technology.” Led by Branch Chair Sushant Yadav and supported by the institute’s leadership, the two-day event provided a comprehensive introduction to the IEEE mission, specialized technical societies, and the vast array of professional resources available to members. Through interactive sessions and a dedicated leadership meet, students were guided on transitioning academic concepts into real-world projects and leveraging IEEE’s network for scholarships and career growth. 1. TECHNICAL SPEECH COMPETITION
On July 15, 2022, the IEEE Student Branch at BBDNIIT (STB99403), under the Department of Electrical Engineering, hosted a highly successful national-level Online Technical Speech Competition. The event drew aspiring engineers and eloquent speakers from across the country to present their insights on contemporary technical themes. Guest judge Ms. Rahat Naz, Assistant Professor at Goel Institute of Technology and Management, evaluated the finalists on their conceptual clarity and presentation skills, emphasizing the critical role of extracurricular activities in the personality development of technical students. Supported by the BBD Educational Group leadership and Director Dr. V.K. Singh, the competition provided a professional stage for students to refine their communication skills. The event concluded with a commitment to fostering technical excellence and self-expression, awarding certificates to the top performers and all participants to honor their academic initiative and potential.
2. TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION
On September 5, 2022, the IEEE Student Branch at BBDNIIT (STB99403), in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering, organized a heartfelt Teachers’ Day Celebration to honor the legacy of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Recognizing teachers as the “torchbearers of the next generation,” students expressed their deep gratitude through a beautifully decorated campus and a warm welcome for the faculty. The event featured a formal cake-cutting ceremony led by Director (Engg.) Dr. V.K. Singh, alongside a token of appreciation presented to each faculty member for their tireless dedication to student development and ethical guidance. Concluding with reflections from Head of Department Prof. Rituraj Jalan, the celebration successfully reinforced the bond between mentors and students, celebrating the vital role educators play in shaping a brighter, value-driven future.
3. MASTERCLASS ON APTITUDE & REASONING
On October 6, 2022, the IEEE Student Branch at BBDNIIT (STB99403), under the Department of Electrical Engineering, organized an insightful Masterclass on Aptitude & Reasoning. The session featured Mr. Naveen Sharma, HOD of Biotechnology at Ambalika Institute of Technology and Management, as the guest speaker.
The masterclass provided students and faculty with a comprehensive roadmap for mastering logical and numerical reasoning—essential skills for recruitment drives at MNCs, investment banks, and consulting firms. Mr. Sharma focused on the utility of aptitude tests in measuring IQ and working efficiency, offering practical shortcuts for solving complex problems, including “calendar-based” queries and “odd day” calculations. By emphasizing how these assessments help students make informed career decisions based on their personality and strengths, the event reinforced BBDNIIT’s commitment to professional development. The session concluded with a vibrant Q&A and a vote of thanks by core committee member Padmesh Pandey, leaving attendees better equipped to navigate the competitive global job market.
4. ARTICLE WRITING COMPETITION
On March 8, 2022, the IEEE Student Branch at BBDNIIT (STB99403), within the Department of Electrical Engineering, organized an Article Writing Competition to commemorate International Women’s Day. Centered on the timely theme, “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” the event challenged participants to showcase their creative thinking and narrative skills.
The competition was structured in two rigorous phases: an initial writing round where students crafted original 500-word articles, followed by a final narration round. In this second stage, participants presented their work before guest judge Ms. Rahat Naz, who evaluated them on relevance, imagination, and presentation. Ms. Naz commended the students for their ability to articulate complex social issues and encouraged them to view the event as a journey of knowledge acquisition rather than just a contest. Supported by the BBD Educational Group leadership and Director Dr. V.K. Singh, the event successfully highlighted the student body’s commitment to social advocacy and professional communication. 5. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
On August 15, 2022, the IEEE Student Branch (STB99403) at BBDNIIT, Lucknow, celebrated the 75th Independence Day of the nation with great patriotic fervor. The event commenced with a ceremonial flag hoisting by the Honorable Director, followed by a series of cultural and motivational programs organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering.
The celebration included a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, a welcome address by Assistant Professor Alok Thomas, and stirring patriotic musical and speech performances by final-year students Anuj Saroj, Shweta Prasad, and Mansi Nigam. During the keynote address, the Director emphasized the significance of independence and motivated students to contribute to nation-building through sincerity and professional excellence. Head of Department Prof. Rituraj Jalan further inspired the gathering by highlighting the importance of punctuality and duty in driving the country’s development. Attended by faculty, staff, and students alike, the event successfully honoured the spirit of freedom while reinforcing the academic community’s commitment to the future triumphs of India.
6. IEEE WEEK CELEBRATION
The IEEE Week Celebration, organized by the IEEE Student Branch (STB99403) at BBDNIIT in October 2022, was a comprehensive three-part initiative designed to foster environmental awareness, academic precision, and professional growth. The week commenced with a Plantation Drive, where students and faculty, led by Director Dr. V.K. Singh and Branch Counselor Prof. Rituraj Jalan, planted over 40 saplings to promote ecological preservation and sustainable campus practices. This was followed by an intensive Masterclass on Aptitude and Reasoning featuring Mr. Naveen Sharma, who provided students with vital strategies for logical reasoning and numerical problem-solving, essential for navigating the competitive recruitment landscapes of global firms and investment banks.
The celebration concluded with a high-impact IEEE Membership Promotion Program, which successfully oriented nearly 100 students toward the professional advantages of the global IEEE network. Executive committee members detailed the exclusive benefits of membership, including access to top-tier research resources, technical networking with industry experts, and leadership development opportunities. By blending community responsibility with technical skill-building, the IEEE Week celebration reinforced the branch’s commitment to the mission of “Advancing Technology for Humanity,” empowering the next generation of engineers at BBDNIIT to excel both ethically and professionally.
