The Faculty of Pharmacy started in the year 2001 with B. Pharm. programme having an intake of 60 students. The Uttar Pradesh Technical University (presently the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University), Lucknow selected the institute as the lone study centre for M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) in the year 2004, which was approved by the AICTE in 2007. The intake in B. Pharm. programme was increased to 90 students in 2007. The B. Pharm. programme is duly approved by the PCI (approved intake of 100), and was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for 5 years from the year 2007, and again for 3 years from the year 2024. Further, M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics), and M. Pharm. (Pharmacology) were approved by the AICTE in 2011. The Diploma in Pharmacy programme was also introduced in the year 2018. The Faculty of Pharmacy is known for the quality of education and research, discipline, high moral values and ethics, all with a personal touch.

The first and the only institute in northern region to secure B.Pharm. Accreditation for 5 years by NBA, in 2007.
The first institute to start M.Pharm. (Pharm. Chem.) in the state of U.P., in 2004.
The first institute to co-organize a U.P. state level seminar in Pharmacy in the year 2002.
The first and only institute having constituted separate students’ and teachers’ welfare funds.
One of the very few institutes to have received letter of appreciation from U.P. Technical University, Lucknow for one of the best I/U ratio for credible system of assessment.

FACILITIES

The Faculty of Pharmacy has 19well-equipped labs, 11 lecture halls, fully air-conditioned exclusive library, computer centre, instrument lab and seminar hall alongwith faculty rooms, central stores, machine room, and an animal house which is duly approved by CCSEA, New Delhi. The herbal garden boasts of more than 100 varieties of medicinal plants. The library is amongst the richest in Pharmacy with more than 1573 titles and7602volumes,and a collection of34 international and380 national journals. Select journals from Science Direct and Bentham Science are available in full text. The Central Instrumentation Laboratory houses sophisticated equipment like FTIR, Bruker FTIR, HPLCs, UV Spectrometers, Carbon Dioxide Incubator, -80 Degree Celsius Deep Freezer, Microwave Synthesizer, Biochem Analyzer, Elisa Reader, Eliza Plate Washer, Texture Analyzer, Digital Electronic Balances, Rotary Evaporators, Refrigerated Centrifuges, IR moisture balances, DR and DT apparatus, Flame Photometer, Trinocular, Homogenizer, Inverted Microscope, Brook field viscometer, Probe Sonicator and Binocular Microscopes, Tablet Dissolution Test Apparatus (Veego VDA 8D), Diffusion Cell Apparatus etc. The Faculty of Pharmacy is proud to have the latest Molecular Modeling Software from BioSolveIT, Germany.
